Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Do I need to bring my own beach towels?
A. No. We furnish beach towels for our guests who wish to
use them. However, they will not be found inside your casita. You
may check out beach towels at our Reception Office, and we do require
a small deposit. You may exchange them for fresh towels as often
as necessary, and when you return them for the final time, your
deposit will be refunded.
Q.
Are there any TV sets or radios in the casita?
A. No, we do not furnish these items, however you are free
to bring your own stereo equipment and/or TV set. We have no satellite
facility, so reception is poor for the televisions. We ask only
that you respect the rights of others when playing music, especially
the volume level and time of day or evening.
Q.
How well are the kitchens equipped?
A. Kitchens are fully equipped with all the necessary items
to prepare and serve meals in your casita. Each casita offers a
stove with oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and blender,
as well as a microwave oven. If you desire, we also provide Weber
grills for our guests' use. Please notify the Reception Office and
they will be happy to have a grill brought to your patio. You may
purchase charcoal and lighter at the Chomak.
Q.
Is there anything else that I might need that is not covered in
this Information page?
A. Although we do furnish many of the necessary items for
your vacation, keep in mind that there is also an adequate grocery/variety
store in Akumal for those items you forgot. It is a good idea to
pack a small flashlight to have for evening walks or for returning
from dinner in the evenings.
Q.
What is your cancellation policy?
A. Effective March 1, 2008 our cancellation policy is as
follows: Reservation cancellation which occurs 45 days or more prior
to arrival date: Your 3 day deposit is refunded in full, minus a
$300 cancellation fee. Reservation cancellation which occurs less
than 45 days prior to arrival date: Your 3 day deposit is forfeited.
Reservation cancellation which occurs less than 30 days prior to
arrival date: Forfeiture of ˝ of the total rental cost, or the equivalent of 3 days rental - whichever is greater.
Q.
What if I need to change my arrival or departure date?
A. We strongly suggest that you make your airline arrangements
at the same time you book your reservation at Las Casitas Akumal.
If you need to change your dates to arrive or depart on different
dates than you have previously reserved, or if you need to decrease
your number of days of your reservation, there will be a $200 change
fee assessed to your final payment. Of course if you wish to reserve
additional days (based on availability) we are happy to extend your
days with no change fee assessed.

Q.
How far in advance can I book?
A.
We begin confirming all reservations 11 months in advance. However, please keep the above date change
fee in mind when confirming your reservation. Also, for the Christmas
holiday season, we accept "wait list" names only, and
will begin notifying prospective guests in order of request date
when it has been determined how many casitas we will have available
(usually by September 1st.)
Q.
Is there a telephone number where I can be reached?
A. Our telephone number is 011-52-984-875-9071.
You may make/receive both incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
Detailed information is provided in your casita.
Q.
Do I need to rent a car?
A. Renting a car is not a necessity, and much depends on
how much "sightseeing" you plan to do. You do not need
a car for getting around in Akumal. If you are going to rent a car,
please have your travel agent reserve and confirm a car, which you
will pick up and return to the Cancun airport. If you do not wish
to reserve a car for your entire stay, there is a "Transfer
Service" available in Akumal which provides airport pick
up and return service.
